The 2019 ITWeb Cloud Summit, taking place on 12 February at The Campus in Bryanston Johannesburg, will provide a platform for cloud experts, researchers and industry practitioners to exchange ideas, discuss new advances in the strategy and practice of cloud computing, and identify emerging trends to define the future of cloud computing in SA.
Titled “The next (r)evolution of cloud computing”, this year’s event will explore how SA organisations can transform their operations and infrastructure while becoming more responsive to changing trends.
Two speakers from Synthesis Software Technologies, specialised software development and cloud-computing experts, will address sessions at the event.
Michael Shapiro, Synthesis’ Managing Director, will speak at the panel discussion on the impact of hyper-scale cloud on the South African market. The panel will discuss the impact of cloud mega providers on the local market and the way in which the market is expected to evolve.

Jared Naude, AWS and Security Engineer at Synthesis will host a session on securing workloads in the cloud. Businesses are undergoing a major digital transformation in order to modernise their organisations to respond to the changing needs of their customers. Part of this transformation is the migration of workloads to public cloud to increase agility and reduce operational costs.
Jared will discuss best practices, frameworks, data protection, scaled learning and operationalisation challenges that organisations face in the cloud.
